2019-20 Minnesota Timberwolves Season Recap

Regular Season

The Minnesota Timberwolves finished the 2019-20 season with a disappointing 19-45 record, finishing 14th in the NBA Western Conference.

The Timberwolves struggled throughout the season, with injuries and inconsistent play hampering their progress. They were led by Karl-Anthony Towns, who averaged 26.5 points and 10.8 rebounds per game, but lacked a consistent supporting cast.

Coaching Changes

After a disappointing start to the season, the Timberwolves fired head coach Ryan Saunders in February 2020 and replaced him with Chris Finch.

Finch led the Timberwolves to a slightly improved 16-25 record, but the team ultimately missed the playoffs.

Front Office Changes

The Timberwolves also made significant changes in their front office at the end of the season.

Executive Gersson Rosas was fired in May 2020 and replaced by Sachin Gupta.
