The Minnesota Timberwolves, who currently lead the NBA, held on to defeat the San Antonio Spurs 117-110 on November 10th, 2023, in the first game of the Western Conference. Rudy Gobert led the Timberwolves with 16 points and 21 rebounds.
The Timberwolves got off to a strong start, taking an early lead and holding it throughout the first half. However, the Spurs fought back in the third quarter, cutting the lead to just 5 points. The Timberwolves were able to hold on in the fourth quarter, thanks in part to Gobert's strong play on the boards.
Karl-Anthony Towns also had a big game for the Timberwolves, scoring 22 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Dejounte Murray led the Spurs with 26 points, while Keldon Johnson added 20 points.
With the win, the Timberwolves improve to 6-2 on the season, while the Spurs fall to 3-6.
